In folklore, an encounter with this lanky, one-eyed feline is said to be an omen of death. The most common name for it is The Black Cat of the Moor, but depending on where you're from, you may also hear it called the Grimalkin, the Bathgate Cat, Furry Tom, or the St. Normadine Stalker. Of course, it doesn't really matter what name you use, since he doesn't come when he's called.
